These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Karibu getaways discovery, booking web app, and API (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 18 and provide accurate account information. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Authentication is handled by our provider (Clerk).
2. The Service
Karibu helps you compare Kenya getaway destinations, explore activities, read local guidance, and request paid trip packages. Informational content about destinations, activities, seasons, prices, and logistics is provided for general guidance and may be incomplete or out of date — it is not professional, legal, immigration, financial, or safety advice.
3. Support packages & payments
Paid getaway packages are described at checkout. A booking request creates an intent that our team confirms before any work begins. Fees, refunds, and cancellation terms for each package will be stated at the point of purchase.
4. Acceptable use
- Do not misuse, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service.
- Do not upload unlawful content or infringe others' rights.
- Do not scrape, resell, or reverse-engineer the Service except as permitted by law.
5. Your content
You retain rights to the content you create (e.g. package requests, notes). You grant Karibu a limited licence to host and process it solely to operate the Service.
6. Disclaimers & liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Karibu is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions you make based on informational content. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
7. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or to protect the Service and its users.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Kenyan courts, unless mandatory local law provides otherwise.
